When you read her short stories it’s almost like music that echoes in your mind again and again. You will have the desire to read the same story over and over. She knows how to use words properly to make the story unforgettable.

This book is a treat for lovers of Persian short stories. Not only because the author Moniro Ravanipour has proven to be one the most prominent Persian writers is exile, but because of its mesmerizing magic realism that carries the reader away throughout the line. The stories are profound, at times witty and rich with folklore myths and historical mentions of south Iran and Mesopotamia. Although the stories are not related, all six of them have one thing in common showing the magnificent range Ravanipour is as writer.
Bottom line, Lovers of the Old Testament is a must, only if you know how to read in Persian!
The modern stories have been infused with ancient myths and the outcome is breathtaking.
I am trying to read this very slowly and savor each sentence. I dont want to reach the end!
